Data Collection

The Slide Sync extension captures screenshots of Google Slides only during active presentation sessions. No personal information is collected. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any form of analytics.

Data Transmission

Screenshots are transmitted via WebSocket for real-time delivery to viewers in the same session. All data is ephemeral and exists only in memory during the active session. Once the session ends, all data is discarded.

Data Storage

There is no server-side data storage. Local browser storage is used only to save the current session state (room code). No database is involved at any point.

Third-Party Services

PartyKit (powered by Cloudflare) is used as the WebSocket relay for real-time slide delivery. No analytics, advertising, or other third-party services are used.

Extension Permissions

The Chrome extension requests the following permissions:

  • activeTabCapture the current presentation tab screenshot
  • storageSave session state locally (room code)
  • tabsDetect the active Google Slides presentation
  • docs.google.comInject the capture UI and read slide content on Google Slides

Open Source

Slide Sync is fully open source. You can review all code on our GitHub repository at github.com/thiavila/lms.
